Space Shuttle Columbia Resting in Peace Always ~ 1 February 2003 ~
Seven of earth’s newest angels
Found their wings today,
Astronauts aboard Columbia
Grabbed their wings and flew away.
Heroes from all walks of life
Of all ethnicities,
Flew to a place beyond the clouds
With the greatest of dignity.

As Americans, we yet again
Fell upon our knees to pray,
For the crew, their families
To the ones who flew away.
Flew away to answer God’s call
To serve unto the Lord,
Sheltered always in His grace
By His Almighty Sword

Seven lives were lost this day
Though we will not forget,
The gratefulness we will always feel
For the unsung heroes we never met.
