We bow our heads Lord and to you we pray
To be with the soldiers who had to go away
In their hearts is where we ask you to stay
And protect their lives from day to day

Their families they must leave behind
Fear in their hearts is what so many now find
Not knowing if their loved ones will die
Please do not let their last words be good-bye



As the many men and women go to war
Our freedom is what they are fighting for
They stand so proud and they stand so tall
Not once do they allow their spirits to fall

Knowing the things that they will see
And not knowing what the outcome might be
In you they place their trust
For they are protecting us



Even though their faces we will never see
Our heroes they will forever be
Courage and honor is what they show
So freedom is what we all will know

Our freedom we refuse to allow them to take
And our countries bond they will never break
Proud and strong to this day our flag still flies
From this we will once again rise



Our soldiers return we will wait
For only you know their fate
This is our Nations Prayer
To let them know with them you are there.
