The other day while I was at the mall
I over heard a young boy
Talking to his Father and his Mother
For Christmas he did not want one toy.
Next to him sat his older brother
Who wanted this, that and the other
He continued on with his list
In hopes one item he did not miss.

There sat the younger brother
Shaking his little head
"Christmas isn't about what you get
It's what you can do for others", he said.
The older brother laughed out loud
"Yeah, right, whatever you say
Presents are what I want on Christmas Day
All I want to do is eat and play".

The younger brother's eyes began to tear
How can you sit there and not even care
About others who have to go without
Who don't even have clothes to wear.
There are families who don't have a home
On the streets every day and night they roam
Looking for anything that they will be able to eat
There are children who do not have shoes on their feet.

There are families who don't have money
To buy the things that they need
They do what they can do to provide
The only thing they have is their pride.
Christmas isn't about what you get
It's about giving others a hand
It's about letting our hearts expand
Sharing our love across the land.

Christmas is a very special day
It's when Jesus Christ was born
He gave to us all His undying love
Blessed from the heavens above.
It is now up to us to do our part
By spreading cheer to those in need
Showing them the love within our heart
God's perfect work of art.
