Daddy I just wanted to write and tell you,
That I miss you and need you in all the things I do
You were my trusted friend, whose word I could count on:
One day I'll see you again, when I come on home.
I did ask our Lord to take you, on that sad, sad day,
Because I just couldn't stand, to see you suffer that way:
I knew Jesus would take you, to the place that He prepared,
He said He'd make a place, because He really cared.

I miss the times, when troubled, I could ask your advice,
You always answered clearly, always was so wise.
I miss all the many things about you, even just your laugh,
The way you gave me, when it's mother died, that little baby calf.
Some day we'll be together again, up on that heavenly shore,
All the worries will be left behind, there'll be no tears anymore.
Maybe you can come to meet me, there at Heaven's gate,
The grand time we'll have there, I can hardly wait.

Then we can stroll all over Heaven, like the song you loved so much,
Walk the streets of gold, and heaven's tree of life, we'll get to touch,
Worshiping our Lord together, even more than when here on earth,
Because we know, the virgin Mary, to Jesus gave birth.
