The meadow flowers are in bloom
but I sit alone inside my room,
saddened by things that I have seen
and dreaming how life once had been.

I go back in time to yesterday
when with my friends I used to play
in a golden meadow beyond the hill,
so fresh in my mind, it lingers still.

But I must not dream of yesterday
I must go forward, come what may.
I can’t let sad things be in control
and destroy the laughter in my soul.

For sad things come and sad things go
and deep down inside, this I know;
that one day mans inhumanity will cease
when our dear Lord returns, with peace.

So I’ll go out in that meadow fair
and pick a daisy for my hair.
I’ll dream no more of yesteryear
For God has taken all my fear.

There will be wars and rumors of wars
but my destiny lies beyond the stars.
In Gods golden meadow, far, far away,
I’ll walk with Jesus, some sweet day.
