Jesus took His twelve disciples,
To help Him spread the Word.
He spoke to those who gathered round,
Spreading joy for those who heard.
Thousands would come to see Him,
When they heard of how He spoke.
His word began to travel quickly,
Reaching the ears of many folk.
He would travel on a donkey,
In the heat of a noon day sun.
How well He knew His work, on earth,
Had barely just begun.
For there were many sinners
Who defied the word of God,
Worshiping, instead, a man made image;
Golden cows above the sod.
His teachings of God began to anger
Kings and queens who ruled the land.
They sent their soldiers on horse back,
To find this troublesome man.
They found Jesus and his disciples,
And returned them to their palace;
Questioned His word and treated Him
With hate and with much malice.
The rulers saw Him as a threat
And a man who was gaining power.
But, after listening to His words,
They freed Him after hours.
They felt His preaching soon would die
Amongst the sound of laughter.
But, little did they know of Him.
Believers would follow Him after.
