Dad was like a searchlight on the shore
Spreading a large bright light
He was never far away when we called
If we ever needed him in the dark night.
Dad's love reached up like a tower
He always stood tall above the crowd
When he smiled it was like the sun
Shinning bright through dark clouds.
Dad gave us his love so freely
We kids knew that without a doubt
Always knowing where we stood
Never ever did we feel left out.
Dad told us he was old fashioned
He believed in God's unfailing love
Teaching us kids to pray each day
Always thanking our God up above.
