Master Painter
My life weaves in and out
Between my God and me
I choose not the color
Yet he works steadily.
Sometimes he paints sorrow
But in my foolish pride
Often I see the upper way
Yet look for the underside.
Not until the world is silent
And the sound ceases to fly
Will he paint his final picture
Show us the reason why.
The strokes will be so perfect
Painted with a skilful hand
Using strokes of gold and silver
It's the pattern of his plan.
Don't look for a rainbow
Or hues of clouds passing by
God will paint his masterpiece
Someday up in the sky.
