Words Of Life
The words of God from my bible
Rest deep within my soul
As I sat in golden silence
Luxury that is untold.
Words that speak of the beginning
Of life as we know it today
How can we not believe those words
As we look at the astounding array.
The words of life is unhampered
For God created the earth
And gave us his precious son Jesus
And the story of his miraculous birth.
When you take the time to look around
And think of the gifts that we share
Each and everyone of us
Should thank him for his love and care.

If Only I Could
If I had the youth of yesterday
Could step so light and free
Get up with vim and vigor
How happy I would be.
If I could eat a hot dog
And heartburn never came
I'd have one of them everyday
And never feel the pain.
If I could dance like I use to
Or go on a nice long hike
And oh my dear what I wouldn't give
To ride on another bike.
Alas my friend the day has come
Many things I cannot do
I'm still so thankful for a lot of things
Like special friends such as you.

Loving Words
As I sit in quiet silence
My mind just goes astray
I know there's more that I can do
Making this a better day.
Let me take note of a few things
What have I said or done to bring
Precious words like I love you
For family makes my heart sing?
I know it would because you see
Just what does tomorrow hold?
Please say I'm thinking of you
May be the last time they are told.
Our friends are also important
Let's not let them slip us by
It only takes a minute
To send each a kindly Hi!
The unimportant things we do
The thoughtless things we say
Lets analyze each one of them
Make this a happier day.
For we must stop and realize
Tomorrow we may never see
Don't leave this earth with a heavy heart
When loving words set you free.

One Day At A Time
I sometimes lose my patience
My days seem sad and blue
And then I stop and search my heart
That's when I think of you.
Things just don't seem to go right
No matter how hard I try
I get in touch with you my friend
And in comfort I have a good cry.
I'll bet there is not one person
Anywhere in this world
That sometimes feel like giving up
But with a friend they can unfurl.
God never promised us paradise
While we remain on earth
We will receive that in Heaven
When our time comes for a new rebirth.
So take one day at a time
Make the best of what He gave me and you
It is up to us to be strong and sure
In the important things we do.
So when we get up each morning
Lets be happy and not be sad
With so much devastation in our world
We really don't have it so bad.

My Country Kitchen
Welcome to my country kitchen
Where it smells like ginger bread
Fried chicken, mash potatoes
Where so many I have fed.
No one comes by much anymore
I miss that very much
I still do a lot of cooking
Even though I'm out of touch.
With fast food places everywhere
That's just not for me
Working in my country kitchen
Is where I want to be.
So come on by anytime
Always enough for more
Just walk in you are welcome
Don't bother knocking on my door.

Perfection
A day of sheer perfection
The beauty of flowers and trees
Tiny birds happily chirping
And flowers topped with honey bee's.
A lovely time to say thank you
For the blessing's from up above
When God look's down upon us
With his wonderful treasure of love.
I'd like to share with you my friend
My family, my life and my gift
I hope when your journey is over
What you find will give you a lift.
For God has been so generous
His blessings are beyond compare
But what he has given in abundance
With you I will happily share.

Not Alone
My life is stressed and full of pain
But I am not alone
Someone that's very close to me
For many years I've known.
When I am sad and weary
My friend is always there
Never doubting that I need him
I live with his infinite care.
When I can't sleep at night time
Do things I need to do
I'll have a talk with my friend
And his guidance I'll pursue.
Even though my quality of life
Is not what I'd like it to be
My dearest friend is Jesus
And he is always there for me.
