My son Craig is a hero
I can say this with pride
Although I try to hide my fear
In my heart it does reside.
He serves his country proudly
And believes in democracy
Yet there is an inner whisper
That wants to keep him here with me.
I'm so proud to be his mother
Brag about him through the day
I can't help but wonder
If there isn't a better way.
If only there was some way
To dry up all the tears
To speak to you, to touch your face
And vanquish all my fears.
The days are very lonely
Since you went away
My heavy heart is waiting
Until you come home someday.
My precious son I love you
More than you could ever know
My love and my prayers are with you
Where ever you may go.
My son is a strong, brave soldier
Whom I cherish and deeply love
I pray that God watch over him
From Heaven up above.

My Son, My Hero was written especially for Barbara Daniel,
Mother of Craig Daniel who is one of many brave and committed
armed forces personnel who proudly and bravely go to
foreign shores to defend freedom and peace.
Craig is currently awaiting deployment for his first tour of duty in Iraq.

This candle burns in gratitude and memory of all armed services personnel
who give their all to keep our countries safe and free.
Many have paid the ultimate sacrifice, many have suffered
horrific injuries, both of mind and body.
Please send your thoughts and prayers to Craig and all
service personnel and families for a speedy end to this war in Iraq
and a safe return home
