As you leave for parts unknown,
Please know we’ll pray for you.
You’ve answered your country’s call,
Just like we knew you’d do.

Thank you for being willing to serve,
And for protecting our freedom and choice.
You’re one of many standing in the gap
To silence the terrorist’s voice.

We know you’ll have lonely moments,
And you’ll miss your family and friends.
But know we’ll welcome you back with open arms,
When your tour of duty ends.
